[Abstract] Trigeminal neuralgia is the most common form of cranial neuropathy. Its possible etiology, pathogenesis and pathological changes have not been clearly identified and confirmed.Fusion imaging technology can more accurately assess the relationship between trigeminal nerve and adjacent vessels, more intuitive guidance related surgery. The application of functional magnetic resonance imaging plays an important role in understanding the pathogenesis of trigeminal neuralgia and evaluating prognosis. This article aims to review its etiology and related MRI research progress.
