MRI quantitative research progress of sacroiliac joint changes in patients with ankylosing spondylitis

[Abstract] Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a systemic connective tissue disease which can invade multiple systems. Its etiology and pathogenesis may be related to genetic, infection, immunity, and resistance. however, all of which lack of clear evidences. Sacroiliac arthritis is the most common, characteristic and diagnostic performance of AS. Owing to the characters of multiple orientations, multiple sequences, multiple parameters and good tissue contrast, magnetic resonance imaging is the first choice for assessing and reviewing AS. In this paper, we will summary the MRI quantitative analysis of sacroiliac joint changes in patients whith AS. The research methods are as follows: diffusion weighted imaging, intravoxel incoherent motion diffusion weighted imaging, dynamic contrast-enhanced MRI.
