[Abstract] Sarcopenia is a geriatric syndrome characterized by the decline of skeletal muscle mass and function, and it is also one kind of chronic complications of diabetes mellitus which can lead to a series of adverse health consequences. Early identification of diabetes-related sarcopenia is of great significance in preventing disease progression and ensuring the quality of life, and imaging techniques have shown great clinical value for the evaluation of muscle mass change in the early stage of sarcopenia. This article mainly discusses the value and characteristics of different imaging techniques in the evaluation of diabetes-related sarcopenia.
