[Abstract] Clinical treatment principles and prognosis of benign and malignant vertebral compression fractures (vertebral compression fractures, VCFs) are dramatically different, which is of great significance to accurately distinguish the two. In recent years, with the development and application of MRI technology (e.g. diffusion weighted imaging, dynamic contrast-enhanced imaging, and chemical-shift), especially the development of new radiomics technology, the characteristics of imaging features have been greatly improved, thereby improving the accuracy of differential diagnosis of benign and malignant VCFs. The purpose of this article is to review the application of MRI techniques and radiomics in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant VCFs.
