[Abstract] Nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) has become the first choice for the treatment of breast cancer patients or for prophylactic resection of women at high risk of cancer due to its high oncological safety and aesthetic effec. It's the main problem to be solved urgently to preoperative evaluate the involvement of the nipple-areola complex (NAC) and to select the proper patients for NSM. The research progress and advantages and disadvantages of using imaging methods to predict the preoperative involvement of NAC in recent years were reviewed in this paper, which provided important information for surgeons to choose subsequent surgical methods.
