[Abstract] Deep infiltrating endometriosis (DIE) is a chronic disease that mainly affects women of childbearing age, involving different organs and tissues and causing chronic pain in the pelvic. Achieving early diagnosis and treatment of this disease is crucial to improve the quality of life of patients. MRI allows for a comprehensive and objective assessment of the lesion, and has high application value in the preoperative examination and postoperative follow-up of DIE. Furthermore, the application and development of multimodal MRI techniques have further improved the diagnostic efficacy of MRI. This paper will introduce the application of multimodal MRI techniques in DIE, and review its diagnostic status and research progress in DIE, and analyze the value of different MRI techniques for the diagnosis of DIE, in order to help guide the clinical use of more appropriate and reasonable MRI techniques in the diagnosis and assessment of DIE.
