The research status of mucoid degeneration in anterior cruciate ligament

[Abstract] Mucoid degeneration of the anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is a less understood entity, it may cause the knee pain or motion deficit and have characteristics on MRI, but it’s often confused with a diagnosis of ACL rupture or intraligamentous ganglia. In this review, we summarize the epidemiology, clinical manifestations, pathogenesis, MRI features and diffrerntial diagnosis of this lesion.
