[Abstract] Conventional MR imaging has been widely used in musculoskeletal system. With the advent of new MR techniques, including diffusion-weighted imaging, perfusion imaging, MR spectroscopy, T1ρ, T2 mapping, ultrashort echo time sequence, MR arthrography and so on, the functional and metabolic metrics except for anatomy have become available that may help expand the role of MR imaging in the diagnosis and investigation of musculoskeletal diseases.
