[Abstract] Type 2 diabetes mellitus is a kind of common chronic glycometabolism disorder. It can cause multiple terminal target organs damage, and diabetes related cognitive dysfunction has become a focus of attention for the researchers, but its pathogenesis remains unclear. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) has become an important means to study the biological basis of brain damage in vivo. This review will discuss the brain MRI imaging abnormalities about type 2 diabetes, and expects to provide some basis for clarifying the pathogenesis of type 2 diabetes encephalopathy and its clinical diagnosis and treatment.
