[Abstract] Diastolic dysfunction (DD) is a risk factor for adverse cardiovascular events. Assessment of diastolic function is vital in treatment monitoring and prognosis prediction for patient with heart failure. The evaluation methods of DD include: cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR). CMR possess multiple advantages in the evaluation of diastolic function, such as accurate quantification of global and regional ventricular function, hemodynamic analysis. This article reviews the main methods and research prognosis of DD assessment by cardiac magnetic resonance.
